Meet the Founder - Hello, I’m Krista!
I started Emberwood Cottage Co. with a simple goal: to create a candle that was a cleaner, more thoughtful choice for my home. As someone who cares deeply about the products I bring into my space, I wanted candles made with carefully chosen ingredients that I felt comfortable burning around my family and pets.
Inspired by a love of cottage life, quiet mornings on the lake, and the simple comfort a candle can bring to everyday moments, I began handcrafting candles using coconut soy wax, wood wicks, and pure essential oils and plant-based extracts. Each candle is hand-poured in small batches from my studios in Millbrook, Ontario and Kahshe Lake, Muskoka.
What began as a personal pursuit has grown into a collection inspired by the simple comforts of home, time spent in nature, and the moments that help us slow down and reconnect.

Our candles are crafted with a premium coconut soy wax blend selected for its clean burn, smooth finish, and exceptional quality. This plant-based wax allows our essential oil blends to shine while providing a long-lasting, beautiful burn. Combined with natural wood wicks, it creates the cozy cottage atmosphere that inspires every Emberwood candle.
WOOD WICKS
Wood Wicks
We chose natural FSC-approved wood wicks for the cozy experience they create. As they burn, they produce a gentle crackle reminiscent of a quiet evening by the campfire, adding warmth and ambiance to any space. Wood wicks also create a beautiful flame and pair exceptionally well with our coconut soy wax, helping each candle burn cleanly and evenly.

We use high-quality essential oils to create the signature scents of our collection. Sourced from plants, flowers, fruits, and woods, these oils are extracted using traditional methods such as cold pressing and steam distillation.
